Kier stage annual supply chain awards

Our framework partner Kier Construction recently held their annual Supply Chain Awards Event in Warrington where they were joined by supply chain partners from across the North West region.

The event was held to provide the opportunity to recognise partners that had gone above and beyond to support their projects, during what has been an unprecedented period for the industry.

The event saw the presentation of individual project awards and a number of special awards covering Safety, Social Value, Environment and also a Managing Director’s award.

The Managing Directors Award was presented to Elite Cleaning for their efforts through the pandemic. The pandemic has shone a spotlight on this trade and has made the industry realise just how important a process it is. Cleanliness has been fundamental to keeping sites safe to work within.

The Environment Award was awarded to Sunbelt Rentals for their part in a joint innovation project at their prestigious Shakespeare North project in Prescot (procured through the NWCH framework) This involved a UK-first trial of using PUNCH Flybrid flywheel technology to assess if the innovation could reduce the energy required to power a static crane. The trial was a resounding success

The morning culminated in the presentation of their subcontractor of the year awards, which were presented to Mayo Civil Engineering Ltd & Summit Marine Scaffolding Ltd respectively.

“Our Supply Chain are the engine room of the industry and their expertise, professionalism and collaboration has been critical in getting us through this challenging period.  The event provided a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate these achievements, and being able to do that in person made it that little bit extra special this year! Well done to all the winners” Neil Carson, Kier Supply Chain Manager
