Our Framework Partner, VINCI Construction, have recently awarded a £3,000 grant to Manchester Central Library Development Trust to support them in purchasing books as part of their See Myself in Books project.
This project seeks to introduce children to books and stories that better reflect their local communities and cultural heritage and help improve literacy skills.
“We are proud that we can support local charities and enterprises in Manchester through our unique VINCI UK Foundation. The See Myself in Books project is unique and represents the diverse nature of our City and we were delighted their application was successful.” Andrew Shelmerdine, Framework Manager
VINCI worked closely with the North West Construction Hub (NWCH) team and Manchester City Council to support this project.
Overall, ten charities sponsored by VINCI Construction UK have been awarded grants from VINCI UK Foundation in this year’s application process. The foundation donated £41,492 and will support most vulnerable members of our local communities in areas such as:
- promoting access to employment
- integration through housing
- inclusive mobility
- building better communities in underprivileged neighbourhoods
A brilliant and worthwhile initiative. Well done Vinci!
